Wilmar — Tamarindo born and raised.

Pura Vida

For more than 35 years, Wilmar has been reading these waves. He grew up on this beach, learned to surf on these breaks, and has been teaching travellers from all over the world how to stand up on their first wave.

His lessons are patient, simple and focused on safety. Whether you've never touched a board or you're working on your pop-up timing, he'll meet you exactly where you are — in English or in Spanish.

Show up, bring sunscreen, and leave the rest to him. Most students catch their first wave in the very first lesson.

What we offer

Surf lessons for every level.

Two-hour sessions on Tamarindo Beach. Every lesson includes the board, rash guard, water and fresh local fruit — and Wilmar's full attention on the water.

Beginner · First Wave

Never surfed before? Start here. Land theory, paddling, pop-up technique and safety in the whitewater. By the end of the lesson, you'll be standing up.

Intermediate · Level Up

Already popping up? Work on positioning, paddle timing, turning and reading the set. Perfect for surfers wanting their first green-wave rides.

Group Lesson

Travelling with family or friends? Wilmar runs small group lessons at a great per-person rate — same two hours, same coaching, more stoke.
